Lighting :)

Well for this assignment I was lucky enough to have my cousins around, so took photos of them! :) They are some of the most photogenic kids ever, so I hope you enjoy!

This is my front lighting photo. My cute cousin, Serin, was over on a day when it was pretty cloudy so there isn't too much of a difference in lighting, but this is the best I've got.

Here is my other front lighting photo. I couldn't decide which I liked better, so I figured I'd post both. :) Again, when Sonora was over it was cloudy, so still not much lighting.

This is my side lighting photo. My cousin, Lucy, was such a poser! She had tons of fun taking photos with me and I got lots of cute ones of her. :)

This is my back lighting photo. Again, this is Lucy. :) I totally love this photo! I really like the way her hair is falling. I don't know, I just love it. :)

This is my hard lighting photo. Really it's hard back lighting. :) Once again, cute Lucy! I really like the sun in this photo, I think it makes the photo look a lot more interesting.

This is my soft lighting photo. I absolutely love Sonora's eyes in this! :) She is just so darling! I love it!

This is my dusk lighting photo. My cousin, Joseph, is such a stud. ;)

This is also my dusk lighting photo. I liked both photos a lot, so I just had to post both of them. :) Lucy is such a cutie in this photo!

This is my mid-day/daylight photo. Again, Lucy is just such a cutie so I totally love this photo! :)

Well this week I learned that lighting really does make a big difference on the way your photo ends up. The different directions of lighting and the hardness and softness really play into what my end product will be. I also figured out that I really like side lighting. I love the way it brings light into the photo, but also makes lots of shadows. :)

Action Shots

So here are my action shots! :)

This is my attempt at panning.

I set my camera on continuous and took this photo of my friend, Nikki.

Another one of my attempts at panning. I had a really hard time with the panning because somehow I could never get the background to blur and my subject to be in focus. I always had either both of them in focus or both blurry. Oh well! :)

Although the water is basically in focus in this, I still think it shows the motion of the water dropping.

This photo I took while driving. I think it shows motion because all of the lights are going off to the sides and you can tell that we were moving.

Again, I was driving when I took this.

This photo just like the last two, I took while driving. But for this one the blur is mostly because of my cars movement rather than the other cars movements. The road was bumpy which made me move the camera while taking this photo.

I also took this photo while driving, but for this one we were turning the corner so I got a bigger blur.

I was, once again, turning while taking this.

For this photo I used the street lights for my movement instead of the cars.

I used the street lights again on this one, but the street had a lot less lights which made there only be two long streaks. :)

Well, those are all of my action shots!

I tried panning, but obviously that didn't work out very well. Like I said before, I couldn't get the background to blur at the same time that I got my subject in focus.

I didn't figure out how to adjust shutter speed until I did the photos of the lights and even then it wasn't on my camera. I used my dad's camera for almost all of these photos actually. Anyway I couldn't adjust the shutter speed to help with the blurring and such.

I did use the continuous setting which actually worked really well! :)

I tried to anticipate the motion on the light photos. I set up the camera and then took the photo right when we got to an area that had a lot of cars.

I did hold the shutter button halfway down. :) I actually always do that...

So, I hope you liked my weird action shots!

Berklee

:) Here are two photos that I took of my friend, Berklee.

This one I took of her while we were just sitting and talking.

This one I took of her as she was doing a pitch. I did do a lot of editing on it, but I really wanted to make the colors be very different. The spots on it are from a piece of fabric that had sequins on it. I put the fabric in front of the camera when I took the photo. :)

Pixlr! :)

I've had fun editing photos in Pixlr this semester, so here are a couple of my favorites. :)

I edited this photo in Pixlr, but then I added the text in using picnik. :)

You may recognize this picture. :) I used it for my Black and White assignment last month, but I edited it again so now the rose is in color.

I originally took this as part for the Black and White assignment and I didn't like it as much as my other pictures. Although now that I know how to work Pixlr better I've re-edited it and I like it a lot more. :)

Again, I took this photo for the Black and White assignment, but I think I like it better in color...maybe. I can't really decided.

I love the original photo, but I was just playing around in Pixlr and it ended up like this. Personally, I think it looks awesome. ;)

Note: You can always click on any of my images to see them in full size. :)

David Hockney Photo Collage

This is one of the walls in my room. I chose to make a collage of this because I thought that all of the posters would look cool. I had a hard time making this and having it look good, but hopefully this will be okay. :)

PS: In case you can't tell the posters on the bottom were really hard to match up. ;)

PHOTOGRAPHY FUN :)

These are just some photos that I have taken recently. :) I edited them using pixlr.

One of my friends from dance. :)

One of the costumes at my dance studio. Fun fact: I wore this costume for my ballet recital 3 years ago!

My and my friends, pretty pointe shoes. :)

A tutu that I get to wear this year for my recital!

A cute little girl I know. :)
